Vol. 195 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Control of Itinerants.

31.

asked the Minister for Justice if it is proposed to introduce legislation to control the activities of itinerants of the tinsmith and kindred groups; and, if so, when.

There is at present sitting a Commission on Itinerancy, appointed by the Taoiseach, with wide terms of reference. The problems associated with itinerants affect several Departments but, as far as my Department is concerned at all events, amending legislation is not contemplated, pending the submission of the Commission's report.
