Vol. 195 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Annual Leave of Social Welfare Agents.

43.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare what period of annual leave is allowed to social welfare agents employed in his Department.

On their assimilation into the Department in August, 1950, the agents employed in my Department retained the annual leave allowances which applied to them under the former National Health Insurance Society. These allowances are 18 working days in the case of established agents, 12 working days in the case of a small number of unestablished (part-time) agents paid on a fixed-rate basis and six working days in the case of those of the remainder of the unestablished (part-time) agents who were deemed by the former National Health Insurance Society to be entitled to holidays.
