Vol. 196 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Enniscorthy (Wexford) Garda Station.

62.

asked the Minister for Justice when the new Garda station in Enniscorthy, County Wexford will be commenced.

The Commissioners of Public Works have informed me that the legal formalities in connection with the acquisition of the site for the new Garda station at Enniscorthy have not yet been completed. It is therefore not possible at this stage to state when building operations will be commenced.

Is there any possibility that the Minister might hurry the people holding up this project? I understand that the site has been available for the past 12 months or more.

The delay is in the clearing up of the legal formalities. Every effort is being made to expedite the matter.

Could the Minister, as Minister for Justice, not do something with the legal profession?

My writ does not run in that particular regard.

Only with the judges.
