Vol. 196 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Shannon Weir.

23.

asked the Minister for Fianance if he has a scheme in his Department for the removal of the weir at Meelick across the Shannon; and, if so, when it is proposed to commence work; and if he has obtained recommendations concerning the urgency of the work.

There is no specific scheme for the removal of this weir. It will fall to be considered in relation to work on the River Shannon as a whole. In this connection I would refer the Deputy to the answer which I gave to a question on the 10th April, 1962.

The Parliamentary Secretary is answering even before the Question is called. We are teaching him.
