Vol. 196 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Concert Hall.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance whether in view of the necessity of having a proper concert hall and assembly rooms in Dublin and the urgency arising from the closing of the Theatre Royal the Government will be prepared immediately to finance the building of a suitable concert hall in Dublin.

As I have already stated in reply to questions on this subject, I do not think the Government should take the initiative in providing premises for a concert hall in Dublin. In any case the Government would not agree to provide more than a contribution towards the cost of such premises.
