Vol. 196 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wage Claim of Clerk-Typists.

6.

asked the Minister for Finance whether his attention has been drawn to reports that civil servants of the clerk-typist grade represented by the Civil Service Clerical Association are taking legal advice with a view to having a court ruling on the disagreement which led to the dead-locking of their dispute with him with regard to their wage claim; and what is the present position with regard to this wage claim.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. In regard to the second part, disagreement has been recorded on the claim by the General Council under the scheme of conciliation and arbitration for the civil service; the claim has now become referable to the Arbitration Board and further action is a matter for the association.
