Provision for grants by my Department to assist the preservation and improvement of game resources was first authorised in the Lands Vote for 1961/62 — Subhead L. The amount provided under the subhead in the financial year ended 31st March, 1962, was £7,500; the current year's provision is £10,000.
Prior to 1961/62 grants were issued by Bord Fáilte Éireann.
