Vol. 197 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Application for Wheel Chair.

36.

asked the Minister for Health (1) when it was reported to the Meath County Council that an applicant (name supplied) needed a new wheel chair; (2) when she was taken to Navan for a report on her old chair; and (3) when she will be provided with a new chair.

I have had inquiries made from the Meath County Council and have been informed that representations were received by them on 23rd May, 1962, to the effect that the patient's wheel chair, supplied only about 18 months previously, needed to be replaced. She was seen at the Orthopaedic Clinic in Navan in July and August, 1962, and, early this month, was brought by ambulance to the National Medical Rehabilitation Centre to determine the type of chair most suited to her condition and abilities.

I understand that a new chair is due for delivery today.
