Vol. 197 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Workers at Agricultural Experimental Stations.

55.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when he proposes to sanction a forty-five hour week for the workmen employed at his Department's experimental stations at Abbotstown and Backweston, County Dublin; and, if he is not prepared to grant these workers a forty-five hour week, if he will promote legislation to enable them to have their grievances investigated by the Labour Court.

As regards the first part of the Question, the official working week of the employees on my Department's lands at Abboststown and Backweston will continue to be kept in line with that of workmen employed by farmers generally in the County Dublin area.

The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative.
