Vol. 197 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Payments.

59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons for the prolonged delay in paying clear-herd bonuses and headage grants under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme; and if he will take steps to minimise the delay in making these payments.

Because of the very large increase in the numbers of claims before the termination of the headage grants arrangements on 30th September, some delay unavoidably occurred in making payments. Steps have been taken to ensure that all the claims will be disposed of within the next few weeks.
