Vol. 197 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cow-Testing Supervisors' Remuneration.

60.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will take steps to have the present inadequate remuneration of cow-testing supervisors' increased.

62.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any decision has yet been reached on the proposals for a unified milk recording scheme, which have been under consideration in his Department; if so, what is the decision; and what effect any such decision will have on the position of cow-testing supervisors.

With the Ceann Comhairle's permission, I propose to take Questions Nos. 60 and 62 together.

The remuneration of cow-testing supervisors is primarily a matter for the local cow-testing associations which employ the supervisors. I cannot yet say what revised arrangements may be possible as regards milk recording in general, or what effect such arrangements may have on the position of cow-testing supervisors.
