asked the Minister for External Affairs whether Ireland was prepared to support the resolution of the United States, Russia or Ghana in the Security Council of the United Nations during the recent Cuban crisis.

The Minister's speech made it clear that we supported the United States position on the removal of missiles from Cuba. We advocated immediate negotiations which were finally agreed to, but if the United States resolution had been put to a vote, we would have supported it.
