Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Donegal Holdings.

74.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate, giving names and addresses, the holdings in County Donegal (a) which have been inspected with a view to acquisition for sub-division, (b) in respect of which offers have been made, and (c) in respect of which offers have been accepted.

Except in the case of properties in which inspection by the Land Commission has actually led to the institution of compulsory acquisition proceedings and publication of the relevant statutory notices, I would not feel justified in giving particulars in the precise form requested: to do so would be a disclosure, in relation to individual landowners, of information which, I feel, is best treated as confidential between them and the Land Commission.

Perhaps, in the circumstances, it would meet the Deputy's requirements to know that, at present in County Donegal, proceedings are well advanced for acquisition of a 53 acre Parke Estate at Corranagh, Letterkenny, while negotiations are in progress for voluntary purchase of two further properties aggregating 192 acres.
