Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Donegal County Council Bulk Water Supply.

111.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that his Department supplied water at Finner Camp, County Donegal (a) to 20,000 persons in 1918, and (b) to 4,000 persons in 1939-45; and that 24,000 gallons per day are running uselessly into the sea; if so, why he has refused a bulk supply from the said storage to Donegal County Council; and if he is prepared to grant metered bulk supply to any industrialist, or other householder, who may apply for it, as he has already sanctioned such a facility to one householder.

Without accepting the implications in the Deputy's questions I am glad to be able to tell him that I have invited Donegal County Council and Bundoran Urban District Council to discuss with representatives of my Department the possibility of water being made available to both bodies from the Department's supply at Finner Camp.
