Vol. 197 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Rosses Point (Sligo) Pier.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to proceed with the erection of a suitable pier at Rosses Point, County Sligo.

The order of cost of the proposals for the erection of a suitable pier at Rosses Point places it outside the scope of the minor marine works undertaken by the Special Employment Schemes Office.

Grants are available from the Department of Local Government towards the cost of public amenities including piers. The initiative in such cases rests with the local authority. The Deputy may wish to take the problem up with the county manager to whom a copy of an engineering report prepared by the Office of Public Works in this matter has been forwarded.
