asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received a proposal from the Westmeath County Council for the extension of the water supply from Tyrrellspass, County Westmeath to Toar, Tyrrellspass; and whether he has sanctioned the proposal.

This proposal was approved in principle last August. There was, however, some doubt as to the adequacy of the source to meet the increased demand and this matter is being further investigated by the Council.
