Vol. 198 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Welfare Headquarters.

13.

asked the Minister for Finance at what date work will begin on the erection of the proposed new headquarters for the Department of Social Welfare at Beggar's Bush Barracks, Haddington Road, Dublin.

The planning of this project has reached the stage which should permit of building operations being commenced in the second half of 1963. I might add, that this building will also house the staff of the Department of Health at present occupying the Custom House.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say when it is hoped to complete the work?

It will take at least three years and probably four.
