Vol. 198 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Housing.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government (a) the number of houses erected by Limerick City Corporation in each of the financial years 1954-55 to 1960-61 inclusive, (b) the number of houses at present in the course of erection by the Corporation, and (c) the number required to meet housing needs in the city as ascertained by the most up-to-date housing survey.

The information requested in the first part of the question is contained in my reply to a question by Deputy Thomas G. O'Donnell on 9th May, 1962.

There were 195 houses in course of erection by Limerick Corporation on 30th September, 1962, the latest date for which figures have been supplied to my Department. At that date tenders had been accepted for a further 86 houses.

Results of a completed survey of unfit housing have not yet been submitted to me by the Corporation.
