Vol. 198 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castletownbere Harbour.

11.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can now indicate when full-scale development of the harbour at Castletownbere, County Cork, may be expected.

The Commissioners of Public Works are carrying out the engineering investigation necessary to develop the proposal for the improvement of this harbour as approved by the Government. The survey and subsoil examination has been completed and the design of a scheme is proceeding. It is expected that the final design will have been decided about the middle of next year and arrangements to start the works will then be made. It is expected that the work will take about three years to complete.
