asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of current school improvements schemes for South-West Cork under the headings (a) new schools, (b) renovations, and (c) improvement of accommodation.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a statement giving the information requested by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:

SOUTH-WEST CORK

NATIONAL SCHOOLS

(a) New Schools:

Lisavaird

Clonakilty Infant Boys

These schools are in course of erection.

Castletownbere Convent

Lisbealad

Maultrahane

Urhan

Grants have been sanctioned; contracts have not yet been placed.

Drinagh Boys and Girls

Knockakagh

St. Mary's Girls/Infants, Dunmanway

Plans have been prepared; Grant stage not reached.

Glandore-Reenogreena

Inchiclough

Sites have been offered. Office of Public Works have been asked to pre pare sketch plans if sites are suitable.

Rossmore

(b) Renovations:

Schull Boys

Grant has been sanctioned; contract has not yet been placed.

(c) Improvement of accommodation:

Reengaroga Knockbee

Grants have been sancti oned. Contracts have not yet been placed.

VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS.

(b) Renovations:

Bantry

Approval has been given to the County Cork Vocational Education Committee for the redecoration of Bantry Vocational School and the repairing of the roof of Castletownbere Vocational School.

Castletownbere

(c) Improvement of Accommodation:

Skibbereen

Plans are being prepared for the adaptation for use as a girls' school of a building in Skibbereen which the County Cork Vocational Education Committee has acquired.

Clonakilty

The Committee has been authorised to proceed with arrangements for the provision of an addi tional classroom at Clonakilty Vocational School.
