Following is the answer:—
Where the import value of parcels imported by post does not exceed £20 each, the duty is assessed by Officers of Customs and Excise, collected by the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, and remitted by that Department to the Revenue Commissioners. The approximate amount of duty collected on such parcels in the months of November and December, 1961, is as follows:—

In the case of parcels exceeding £20 each in value the goods must be entered on the appropriate customs entry forms and duty paid to the Collector of Customs and Excise. Such receipts are accounted for in the ordinary way with all other receipts under the appropriate tariff headings. It is not possible to say what proportion of the receipts under the various tariff headings is attributable to post parcels exceeding £20 in value.
A break-down of receipts as between parcels imported from (a) Great Britain and (b) other countries could not be supplied without disproportionate work and expense.
