Vol. 198 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disemployment of Motor Assembly Workers.

46.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is a fact that the employees of a motor assembly firm (name supplied) have recently been informed that a number of them will be disemployed after Christmas; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no information on the day-to-day operations of any particular motor assembly firm, and I do not consider it desirable that a private commercial concern should be asked for such information for publication.

Would the Minister say whether or not the CIO has as yet made a survey of this particular industry as a whole?
