Vol. 198 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Migration to Meath.

64.

asked the Minister for Lands the number of families which the Land Commission intend to migrate to County Meath in 1963.

Final decisions as regards migration each year are based on a number of factors, including the circumstances of the various applicants, the suitability of their lands for use in effecting rearrangement and the number of new holdings which become available for disposal. The Deputy will appreciate that such arrangements for migration as are in train for the 1963 season are still tentative: in the circumstances, it is not practicable to furnish the information requested.

Can I take it the Land Commission plan their migration only from day to day?

Questions Nos. 65 and 66 postponed.
