Vol. 198 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Western Cattle Breeders' Association.

14.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in respect of the South Western Cattle Breeders' Association, Bandon, County Cork (a) the representation of the farmers, (b) the representation of the Dairy Disposal Company, (c) the amount invested by his Department in the concern, and (d) the reduction in charges promised to users, and when it can be expected.

I have no function in regard to (a), (b) and (d) in the Question.

As regards (c), the only contribution by my Department has been that made in respect of bull progeny testing work to all artificial insemination societies, namely, £400 per recorder employed, up to a maximum of four recorders. £1,600 was paid to the South Western Cattle Breeding Society during the past year in respect of four recorders.
