Vol. 198 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reconstruction of Garda Stations.

59.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of official married quarters for Gardaí which were reconstructed in 1960, 1961 and up to the present in 1962.

60.

asked the Minister for Justice how many Garda stations were reconstructed in 1960, 1961 and up to the present in 1962.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 59 and 60 together.

I am informed by the Commissioners of Public Works that it is not possible to supply separately the information sought in these two questions, as Garda stations and official married quarters are for the most part contained in the same building.

The number of Garda stations and married quarters which were reconstructed in 1960, 1961 and 1962 to date was 21, 22 and 26 respectively.

61.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of (a) Garda stations and (b) Garda houses approved for reconstruction in 1960, 1961 and up to the present in 1962.

As I have already stated in reply to Questions Nos. 59 and 60, it is not possible to supply separate figures for stations and married quarters.

The number of Garda stations and married quarters approved for reconstruction in the years 1960, 1961 and 1962 to date was 34, 28 and 36, respectively.
