Vol. 198 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Enforcement of Parking Laws.

63.

asked the Minister for Justice if the 20-minute parking laws will be strictly enforced during the Christmas period in Dublin.

The 20-minute limit on parking that applies to a number of Dublin streets has, in practice, been treated for some time now as a limit of one hour. It is not proposed to alter that practice for the Christmas period but, subject to that, the intention is to enforce the parking laws, which, as I need hardly say, are there to facilitate the general body of road-users, and the need for which is greater at times of congestion than at any other time.

With the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to raise the subject matter of Question No. 45 on to-day's Order Paper on the Adjournment.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
