Vol. 199 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Road Workers.

57.

asked the Minister for Local Government the average number of men employed as road workers by each county council for the period (a) 1st February to 31st October, and (b) 1st November to the 31st January, in each of the last five years.

The information requested is not readily available in the Department in the form sought and a number of county councils have not yet submitted employment details for January, 1963. I would suggest that the Deputy repeat his question in about a month.

Could the Minister not give the information asked for in relation to four years, if he has not got it up to the last five years? I am sure the Minister can answer the question without advice from the back benches of Fianna Fáil.

The Deputy asked for the information in respect of each of the last five years.

Can the Minister give it in respect of the last available five years?

Yes, I can give it in so far as it is available.

Thank you very much; that will do.
