Vol. 200 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Instruction in Hygiene and Food Values.

82.

asked the Minister for Education whether, in connection with his recent proposal to lengthen the school day in the primary school, and to include subjects such as civics in the curriculum he will also include some elementary instruction in hygiene and food values.

The communication in regard to this matter which was addressed to the various school associations suggested hygiene as one of the subjects in which instruction might be given during a lengthened school-day. The final consideration of the matter will take place when the views of all the school associations have been received. This will give an opportunity of considering all the representations that will have been made.
