Vol. 200 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Trim Bovine TB Office.

19.

asked the Minister for Agriculture why there is no telephone in the office for bovine tuberculosis eradication in Trim, County Meath.

I am afraid the Deputy must be under a misapprehension; there is no such office in Trim.

Where do they go to in Trim?

Drogheda.

They tell me they go to Trim.

There happens to be an official who is engaged in the work on bovine tuberculosis who lives in Trim.

That is a distinction without a difference.

It is a substantial difference.

Could he not be available on the telephone?

He tries to oblige people who call on him but after working hours, he would not have available the necessary records or files. There would be no point in having an office in the home of every official in Meath and Louth.

A telephone would make him more accessible.

That is a matter for himself.
