asked the Minister for Education the number of primary school classes in (a) Limerick City and (b) Limerick County, and the number of children in each such class.

The information is not available in the form requested by the Deputy. It can be stated, however, that the average attendance of pupils attending national schools in Limerick city for the school year ended 30th June, 1962 was 8,808 and that there were 231 teachers serving in the schools on that date. In Limerick county the average attendance of pupils for the same period was 13,141 and there were 462 teachers serving.
