Vol. 200 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballycroy (Mayo) Forestry Potential.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands if any steps are being taken by the Forestry Division of his Department to investigate the forestry potential of the bog and mountain areas of Ballycroy, County Mayo.

Experiments on an area of 122 acres recently acquired at Doolough near Geesalia together with research already initiated at Glenamoy will give worthwhile information on the planting possibilities of the Ballycroy region. My Department has also under consideration the acquisition for research purposes of an area at Ballycroy itself.
