Vol. 201 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Galway Road.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government if the new Dublin to Galway road will bypass Aughrim, County Galway.

As indicated in the reply on 8th May, 1962, to a previous question by the Deputy on this subject, the section of the trunk road T.4A in and around Aughrim is badly in need of improvement in the interests of safety and to bring it up to the standard of other sections of this important traffic route. I have not, however, received any proposals as yet from the county council for the improvement of the section of the road through the village. The question of a by-pass is one for decision by the county council in the first instance.
