Vol. 202 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Six County Residence Permits.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he will request the Government of Northern Ireland to abolish residence permits for Irish citizens procuring or seeking employment in the Six Counties.

The Deputy's question appears to be based on a misunderstanding as residence permits are not required. I assume that the question relates to employment permits.

In my opinion, representations regarding these permits would not, at the present time, result in any change.
