asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to a statement that a certain form of cancer, which is fairly prevalent, could be prevented if the necessary steps were taken to facilitate early diagnosis; and if he has considered taking any action in the matter.

I have under active consideration the question of the establishment of a service for the early diagnosis of cervical cancer by the method of exfoliative cytology. Details are at present being worked out.
