Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Bovine TB Eradication.

7.

(South Tipperary): asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position of the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme in Tipperary South Riding.

Compulsory clearance measures were introduced in County Tipperary on 15th June, 1962, but separate records are not kept in respect of the South Riding.

In the whole county, 282,718 cattle were tested in the first round of compulsory testing, the number of reactors being 11,550. 25,450 reactors, which included reactors from previous tests, were removed under the Scheme from 1st January, 1962 to 30th April, 1963.

The second clearance round of testing recently commenced in the county.
