asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in regard to the new electricity system for State buildings in Upper Merrion Street and Kildare Street, Dublin, Vote 9, subhead B, No. 7, (a) the date on which work on the buildings to house this distribution system was begun, (b) the date on which work on the buildings was completed, (c) whether the necessary electrical equipment has as yet been installed, (d) if not, when it is proposed to instal it, and (e) the date on which it is expected that these works as a whole will be completed.

Work on the erection of an Electricity Supply Board substation and an associated switchroom was begun in January, 1962 and was completed in October, 1962. Most of the required equipment has been installed in the substation and the balance, together with the equipment for the switchroom, will be installed within the next six months. The works as a whole should be completed in twelve months.
