The generating station at Gweedore was designed to use a maximum of 30,000 tons of sod-turf per annum. I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that local turf producers had been supplying approximately this amount but that last year offers of turf had shown a tendency to increase beyond the capacity of the station. The Board have, therefore, requested the producers to keep their deliveries down to the same levels as in previous years.
