asked the Minister for Local Government the amount of road grants which are being allocated to each county for the year 1963-64, and the date on which each county was notified of the amount which is being allocated.

The amount of Road Fund Grants allocated to each county council for 1963/64 is shown in a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. The figures are exclusive of the 50 per cent main road upkeep grant allocations, which cannot be determined until details of the councils' rates provision for roads are submitted and of certain grants which may be allocated during the year for particular works such as bridges. Apart from a few special grants, councils were notified of their allocations on 7th instant.
