Vol. 202 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin School Desks Limitation.

21.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that, owing to official regulations limiting the number of desks to the size of schoolrooms, in many national schools in Dublin three or more children are seated in desks intended to hold only two children, notwithstanding that many schoolrooms could accommodate additional desks; and if he will have steps taken to provide additional furniture for such rooms without delay.

I am not aware that the position is so. If the Deputy furnishes particulars of the schools in question to my Department, I will arrange to have the matter investigated.
