Vol. 203 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Import of Ladies' Stockings.

13.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in the case where licences were issued for the import of ladies' stockings under the Control of Imports Quota (No. 12) Order, 1935, all licences issued during the period 1st January, 1962 to 31st March, 1963, were subject to the condition restricting importation to stockings of a value of not less than 50/- per dozen pairs; and, if not, how many licences were issued not subject to such a condition.

All licences, with the exception of two, were issued subject to the condition that the value of the stockings imported was not less than 50/- per dozen. The two licences, which were issued as an exceptional matter and to which this condition did not apply, related to small consignments, the price of which was slightly under 50/- per dozen pairs after the deduction of the trade discount.
