Vol. 203 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon Airport Notice.

6.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance when, by whom, and for what purpose a notice was exhibited at Shannon Airport bearing the words: Notice—Not to be take down—ordors by Customs and Excise—Shannon Airport Co. Clare (sic).

Inquiries arising out of the question disclose that on an occasion some weeks ago a customs official observed a scribbled note on the lines indicated by the Deputy affixed to the frame of an official notice relating to foot and mouth disease precautions. He tore down the note but rightly did not deem it necessary to report the matter officially. The officer has established that it could not have been on display for more than a few hours. No evidence as to its origin can be adduced.

Deputy Ryan knows where it came from.
