Vol. 203 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Water Supply Schemes.

68.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position with regard to the proposed piped water supply scheme for Clonmel Borough, County Tipperary.

Tenders for the scheme were invited on 24th May, 1963.

69.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position with regard to the proposed piped water supply for the Emly region, County Tipperary.

It has now been decided to amend the original proposals so as to include provision for the augmentation of the water supply to Tipperary urban district. A decision on the amended proposal will issue shortly.

Sir, I did not hear Question No. 61 answered.

The Minister said he was answering Nos. 58 to 66 inclusive.

If Question No. 61 was included, could I ask the Minister, in view of the fact that a great deal of damage has been caused in the Dundrum area by flooding from the old railway line, have CIE any responsibility? The damage occurred because the bridge was taken away. There was extensive damage to houses in the immediate vicinity.

I am afraid that will have to wait for another day.

I take it the House is agreed to finish the Local Government questions.

We are prepared to agree to that.

70.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position with regard to the proposed piped water supply scheme for the Ardfinnan region, County Tipperary.

I understand that contract documents for the first part of the scheme are being prepared by the council's consulting engineer.
