Vol. 203 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Chapelizod (Dublin) Building Work.

30.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that work which was begun at Kildare House, Chapelizod, County Dublin, and for which he granted special permission, has not been completed, thereby being an eyesore and a danger to children; and if he will have steps taken to remedy the position.

I assume the Deputy's question refers to a proposal to construct a shop and dwelling-house at the corner of St. Laurence Road, Chapelizod. Special permission for this proposal was granted by me on appeal on the 12th January, 1960.

I have no direct power to deal with the matters complained of by the Deputy. It is in the first instance a matter for the local authority to consider what action might be appropriate in the case.
