Neither the technical committee set up in County Offaly to consider the application of the speed limits nor the County Council recommended that a speed limit should be introduced at Kinnitty. The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) Regulations, 1963, did not, therefore, provide for a speed limit there. The operation of these limits will be kept under review by the local technical committees and it is open to those interested to make suggestions to the local authority concerned for consideration by the committee and the local authority at the end of the year.
