Vol. 203 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Police Duty Examination.

49.

asked the Minister for Justice if it is a fact that in the case of the recent Class 1B police duty examination (a) a member of the Gardaí, who sat for the examination, did not submit his application for the examination until three weeks after the closing date for receiving entries; (b) the reason why this member's application was received; and (c) if he was successful.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The closing date for the receipt of applications for this examination from members in the Dublin Metropolitan Division was 26th November, 1962, and the application of the member in question was received on 24th November.

The member was successful in the examination which is a qualifying one for promotion to Inspector rank.
