Vol. 204 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Laois Road.

5.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received applications for grants under the rural improvement scheme for the repair of Newtown old road, known as Bog Road, at Newtown, Crettyard, County Laois from Mr. Michael Delaney, Newtown, Crettyard, Carlow; if he is aware that the local residents now find it impossible to use this road in and out of their homes; and if a generous grant will be made available to the applicant without delay so that the work may be undertaken during the summer months.

An application was received in November, 1962, for the repair of the Newtown old road, Crettyard, and the inspector's report on the work has recently been received. The representative was asked on 7th June to forward the rate demand notes for examination. When these are received the matter will be further considered.
