It is intended that Wicklow County Council will, by agreement with the hospital's governing body, acquire Newcastle Hospital for use as a district mental hospital for the county.
Preliminary consultations have taken place involving the Wicklow County Council, the Governors of Newcastle Hospital, the Dublin Health Authority and my Department but it is not possible for me to state when the transfer of the premises is likely to take place.
