Vol. 204 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lighting of Dublin Junction.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the dangerous nature of the lighting at the junction known as The Five Lamps, North Strand, Dublin; and if he will take such steps as may be necessary to ensure that the traffic lights are made sufficiently prominent to remove the present danger.

My attention has not been drawn to the existence of a dangerous situation at this junction. The traffic light signals are provided by the corporation at the request of and in the positions indicated by the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána. I shall have the Deputy's complaint referred to the corporation and the Garda for their consideration.

The Five Lamps was a very dangerous place for the Government a short time ago.
