Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing of Dublin Corporation Subtenants

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of housing applications received by Dublin Corporation from families residing as subtenants in Corporation houses; and if he will indicate approximately when these applications will be provided for by the Corporation.

It is understood that at the beginning of September, 1963, the Corporation had on hands 2,014 applications for rehousing from families living as subtenants in Corporation dwellings, 1,165 of which had been recommended by the Medical Officer for rehousing. The provision and allocation of local authority dwellings for eligible classes is a function of the housing authority and I am not in a position to say when the Corporation will be able to offer accommodation to these families.
