Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Workmen's Compensation.

63.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when proposals for total assumption of the administration of the workmen's compensation code will come before the Dáil.

64.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare at what date he proposes to implement the recommendations of the Minority Report of the Commission on Workmen's Compensation with regard to insurance and whether he has reached any decision as to the implementation of any other recommendations contained in the report of the Commission.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions No. 63 and 64 together.

As I have already informed the Dáil, it has been decided to extend the existing State Social Insurance Scheme to include provision for compensation for disablement or loss of life following occupational injury. I am not yet in a position to say when amending legislation for this purpose will come before the Dáil or to indicate the provisions of such legislation.

Question No. 65 postponed.
